The streets around Masjid al-Haram hold the highest concentration of hotels in Makkah — the Abraj Al Bait (Clock Tower) complex, Jabal Omar to the west, Ajyad to the south and Ibrahim Al Khalil Street to the south-west. For millions of pilgrims each year, this is where they sleep, pray and eat.
Eating near the Haram is convenient but crowded: food courts fill up the moment a prayer ends. Food delivery near the Haram lets you skip the queue and eat in your room, with your family, at the time that suits you.
How delivery works right next to the Haram
Many streets immediately around the mosque are pedestrian-only or closed to vehicles at busy times. That is why riders usually hand your order over at the hotel lobby or main entrance rather than at your room door.
- Choose your hotel from the list at checkout — it tells us which entrance to use.
- Add your room number and a phone number that works in Saudi Arabia.
- Keep your phone on: the rider may call when they reach the lobby.
Which hotel zone are you in?
- Clock Tower (Abraj Al Bait): Fairmont, Swissôtel, Pullman ZamZam and Mövenpick Hajar Tower, directly facing King Abdulaziz Gate.
- Jabal Omar: a modern hotel district west of the Haram, including Hilton Suites, Conrad, Hyatt Regency and Marriott.
- Ajyad: south of the mosque, with towers such as Safwa and Elaf Ajyad.
- Ibrahim Al Khalil Street: south-west, with larger tower complexes such as Kiswa Towers and Le Méridien Towers.
What to eat near the Haram
Visitors near the Haram most often order quick, filling meals between prayers: broast from AL BAIK, shawarma, burgers, and shared Saudi rice dishes such as kabsa and mandi. Coffee, dates and desserts are popular after Isha.
Best times to order
Delivery demand in Makkah follows the five daily prayers. The half hour after each prayer — especially Maghrib and Isha — is when streets are busiest and kitchens are fullest. Ordering a little before you leave the mosque, or choosing 'After [prayer] prayer' at checkout, means your food is ready when you are.
During Ramadan, the busiest windows are just before iftar and after Taraweeh. During Hajj season, traffic restrictions and road closures around the Haram and towards the holy sites can slow every delivery, so allow extra time.
Tips for pilgrims
- Drink Zamzam water, available free throughout the mosque.
- In summer, Makkah is very hot — ordering in helps you avoid walking in the midday sun.
- For large groups, order shared platters instead of many single meals.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get food delivered to my hotel near the Haram?
